Spungen left home at age 17 and moved to New York City. She followed bands such as Aerosmith, The New York Dolls and The Ramones. She later worked as a stripper in New York City, which sometimes involved prostitution. She reportedly moved to London with the express purpose of winning over Jerry Nolan of the New York Dolls and The Heartbreakers but met The Sex Pistols instead. Lead singer Johnny Rotten introduced her to bassist Sid Vicious and they promptly moved in together.
During a rocky 21-month relationship, Spungen and Vicious were addicted to heroin and other drugs. Vicious was already an abuser of multiple drugs before he met Spungen, but many sources claim she introduced him to heroin; other sources claim that he had begun to use heroin with his mother at an early age.
The tabloids dubbed Spungen "Nauseating Nancy" for reportedly frequent and public displays of drug-fueled verbal abuse and violence. After the Sex Pistols broke up in 1978, Spungen and Vicious moved to the famous Hotel Chelsea in New York City. There, Vicious tried, with limited success, to continue his musical career.

Nancy Spungen was born February 27, 1958 to Frank and Deborah Spungen. The Spungens were a middle class Jewish family in the Huntingdon Valley area of Lower Moreland Township, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. Her father was a businessman and her mother owned a local health food store called The Earth Shop. She was born a month premature, and suffered from severe cyanosis. As a child she was hyperactive and reportedly exhibited violent behaviour towards her younger sister Susan and her brother David. She is also alleged to have threatened to kill a babysitter and to have attacked her mother with a hammer during an argument. By age 11 she had been expelled from the public school system and was receiving psychotherapy. She reportedly attempted suicide several times and suffered from depression. Short History of The Sex Pistols
The band that would become the Sex Pistols originally started in 1972 by three Shepherds Bush truants.Warwick “Wally”Nightingle,Steve Jones and paul Cook.Jones as singer,Cook as drummer,nightingale on guitar.The Paul Cook .The Strand,as they became known,would occasionally be joined on organ by jim Mackin,and Stephen Hayes on bass who has later replaced by Paul Cook’s brother in law Del Noones.However,the basic trio was to be jones,cook and nightingle .The had no hopes of stardom;it was just ‘laugh’ , ‘something to do’.However,it also gave them ‘something to do’with all musical equipment Steve Jones had ‘acquired’by hook or crook.Already a petty thief as a kid,without the sex pistols,Steve Jones,life would have ended up very different.The band would mess around rehearsals,playing covers by the likes of The Who and The Small Faces.Firstly,the Furniture Cave in king Rd,Then later the BBC’s Riverside Studio in Hammersmith.Keys provided for free by Wally’s dad who had a contract to refurbish the building.The strand had a great rehearsal room and the best of gear…They just couldn’t play.Cook and Jones started as they meant to go on….Sid Vicious Sex Pistols

Sly, aka John Simon Ritchie, Sid Vicious
Sly was born May 10th, 1957. He was born in England, and spent his teen years in London. A high-school dropout, at a young age he was recruited by Malcolm McLaren to join a band that McLaren had created to exploit the disaffected youth of London.
That band was called the 'Sex Pistols', named in part after McLaren's boutique, 'Sex.'Sly was approximately 19 when the Pistols made it to the very top of the music industry in 1977 with songs like 'Anarchy in the U.K.' and 'God Save the Queen', which made number one on the charts despite being censored (The Billboard chart had a blank spot at Number One).
The Sex Pistols were a smartly packaged group representing rebellion and anarchy, even as they were basically about making money. Sid, however, was no act: cruel, nasty, self-destructive, he personified that which the Sex Pistols purported to represent.
